Job Title: Production Supervisor

Location: Belfast, Co Antrim

Status: Full-time Permanent

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Holidays: 29 Days Leave (Pro rata)

Job Purpose:

Plan, supervise and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary to ensure the smooth running of production related activities of Favourit Foods. Develop and enforce the production schedule to meet the needs of the business and our customers, ensuring compliance with quality, quantity, time and cost targets.

The Production Supervisor must ensure the team are supervised and developed by providing adequate support, training, and measurements to obtain results.


Production Output:

  • Challenge targets for on time delivery, output, quality, waste and other associated KPIs
  • Ensure a daily production meeting to set out the days agenda
  • Work closely with the Buying team to ensure ongoing availability of stock and assist in regular stock takes as required

Team Supervision

  • Encourage and build an effective team by providing guidance and direction to team members including setting performance standards
  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, conduct team member appraisals and create personal development plans
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked
  • Manage all sickness and holidays

Customer Service

  • Respond to direct inquiries on production requirements and schedules from Favourit Foods customers and account managers when required
  • Understand the importance of customer service and meeting customers’ expectations. Supervise the team effectively to ensure this is achieved

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure all team members comply with the operational standards set by external accreditation bodies
  • Assist the Technical and NPD Manager to ensure the site and team are prepared for and meet the standards required for a successful audit
  • Assist the Technical Manager with continuous improvement of quality system procedures
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Ensure the production paperwork is completed and recorded accurately and correctly
  • Manage effective housekeeping within all areas of the site in line with company standards

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all team members comply with all PPE requirements; Health & Safety standards and the completion of risk assessments

Other tasks:

  • Troubleshoot as required regarding requisition of materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as required
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required
