Team GM Raise €1,000 for Musgrave Virtual Triahtlon

Throughout the month of September, members of the GM Marketing team donned their sports gear and took part in the “Musgrave Triathlon … that’s not a Triathlon” fundraiser event, raising much needed funds for four wonderful charities. 

Musgrave is a key trading partner of GM Marketing supporting all our principle brands such as Fox’s biscuits, Tilda, Fillipo Berio and Nandos and we were delighted to be approached by Ian Allen, Managing Director Musgrave to support in this event. 

Now entering its 20th year, Musgrave Triathlon has raised a staggering €5 million for a number of charities.  In 2020 they raised €200,000 for Breakthrough Cancer Research to fund another Musgrave Cancer Research 3-year PHD Scholarship with the aim to improve cancer care and increase survival rates.  This year, the chosen charities are Breakthrough Cancer Research, Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, AsIAm & Cork University Hospital.   

Through a combination of walking, running and cycling, Team GM set out to cover 528 miles, the distance between GM Marketing’s Head Office in Belfast and Musgrave’s Head Office in Cork.  However, the team managed to complete the circuit twice with a total of 1,056 miles covered and are incredibly proud of their achievements. 

GM Marketing’s National Account Controller Paul Keating said “When we heard about Musgrave’s Virtual Triathlon, we didn’t hesitate to sign up and kickstart our fundraising efforts.  

As well as raising much needed funds, the event was a good reason to get out and get moving in September along with generating daily competitive banter throughout the course of the month! 

It was a great team effort from all involved…now to plan the next one!
